Latvia –
The Foundation for Environmental Education in Latvia addresses mainly education
for sustainable development. With the programmes Eco-Schools, Learning about
Forests and Young Reporters, the main part of the activities and capacities of
the organisation focus on project with children and youths. The programmes are
about the development of socio-ecological design skills, and media skills in
the knowledge society for children and youths. The Latvian FEE-member in Riga stresses the issues
of transformation, the requirements for youth work and learning processes in
transition phases. FEE Latvia
has experience in climate change; poverty reduction and alternative energy use
issues integration in education methodology, as well as the experience of
creating blended learning course for decision makers and officials in
municipalities within the project “BEAM@21”.
